Driving Directions

Trailhead starts at Fish Creek campground, 6 miles from Scofield. Take road north of Scofield on west side of reservoir to Forest Development Road #123. TL and follow 123 to campground. Trail ends on Skyline Drive, (FR #150) 14 miles N. of junction of SR 31 & SR 264.


The Fish Creek NRT #5130 is 9.6 miles long. The lower trailhead is located at the end of Forest Road #50123 (Fish Creek Campground). The trail ends at the upper trailhead on North Skyline Drive (Forest Road #50150). The trail is located along the bottom of Fish Creek drainage and generally parallels the stream with two bridged crossings. It climbs 1,080 feet from Fish Creek Campground (7,696 feet) to Skyline Drive (8,776 feet). Vegetation ranges from willows and grass along the immediate stream course, to sagebrush-grass on the south exposures of the canyon. Aspen stands and mixed aspen-conifer are visible on the north facing slope. This trail is normally hiked or biked downward from North Skyline Drive, although many people also hike and fish along the lower 2-3 miles of the trail.
